It was a great evening and great interview! You both did a great job! I think it's hard to know how a person feels about their disability so it was great that Dylan corrected you. I learnt in a unit last semester that some people prefer person first language while others prefer identity first and the only way to know which one they prefer is to ask or be corrected :).
I highly recommend his book to anyone who hasn't read it too. He talks about being grateful for his disability but also highlights the importance of communication as he was often left out of things because people weren't sure he would be able to take part.
I think you covered all bases and it opened the discussion to the language that Dylan preferred to use. I'm sure if you were to ask other wheelchair users the preferences will vary.
I don't drink coffee but I still use the phrase do you want to go out for a coffee haha.
Sounds like a good discussion. I listened to a podcast he did recently with Mark Bouris (it’s called Straight Talk) - he is an awesome person with an inspirational mindset. Definitely worth a listen if you have time.

100% and will get him back one day to do some disability education. Genuinely didn't know what to say with the run/walk/roll question!
