You’ve certainly done a great job... you don’t see many props running in parkrun every Saturday morning. (& smashing it with excellent times!) I’ve only beat you once and it’s because you were taking it easy and running with someone else 😆
Thanks Benny. I really appreciate your taking the time to write this. I’m 106kg and I want to be 92-94 but struggling to even get the first Kg off. Bought an Apple Watch, increased the recommended move and exercise, but still nothing. Time to track my intake.
My pleasure mate, as I feel very strongly about this topic after struggling with it for so long myself. Frustrated at the overcomplicating and mixed messaging around 'getting a bit healthier', so please don't hesitate to get in touch mate if you have any questions.
Hi Ben, great article as a prop who recently had to stop playing due injury, this cycle is all to familiar. I think your bang on the money with the fitness industry using peoples lack of knowledge to make money with short term goals. I think setting life time changes as oppose to short term goals is definitely the way forward👍.
Thanks Rory and sorry to hear about the injury mate. Yes, the fitness industry know people often set unsustainable goals on themselves in an attempt to fix things quickly. And it's very disappointing to see parts of the fitness industry exacerbate this flaw in human behaviour, and profit from it. I know they made their fair share out of me and my insecurities.
Cheers Dianna! Either brave or stupid, as I didn't realise that I was stuck in that cycle for so time, and felt like I needed to speak up to help those who are stuck like I was.
Man I understand this all too intimately and think you hit the nail on the head. I have only really started to take that closer look at how much I’m eating instead of all the “lose it quick” schemes. So far it’s been slow but I am a lot happier with the journey
Good stuff mate! And I didn't think I'd be the only one with this struggle. Hope what I wrote helped and keep taking your time! Also please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.

Thanks Sarah, and I believe the only reason I'm able to do that is because I've finally found balance with food and gotten my eating under control.

Great blog, Ben! Totally agree. Very brave commenting on the limitations of the fitness and weight loss industry. Well done!
