That 4am start is dedication! Kudos to that, such discipline. Great to be able to recognise when you're overdoing plus it helps when you've got a sleep tracker to keep you accountable (looks like an Oura ring?).
Dom is such a legend and really miss having him around, he was such a presence in the office and an amazing support in some of my hard times :)
I had my bloods done the other day and found out that my hypothyroidism is playing up making me tired and mentally foggy, add to that all the other things and it's no wonder I'm in such a state
Thanks mate and sorry to hear about the hypothyroidism. How are you managing it?
Yeah, I've felt a bit funny about the term "discipline" as I don't feel disciplined at all. I've always naturally been an earlier riser and I just write each morning because I love doing it. No discipline required when you love doing something.
He is a bloody legend and you should come join us at a parkrun one Saturday. And yep its an Oura ring. Top 3 best things I've ever bought.
Just taking the meds to manage it. A few days in and I feel it's getting better - hooray!
I enjoy getting up early but sometimes I feel there's a battle between getting the things I need to get done of an evening (cleaning, organising, folding washing etc) which makes me stay up later, making it harder to get up early. Just a balance that I'm always striving to achieve, I guess.
Loving that the writing is like your motivation to get up!
When the kids winter sports is all done next month, I'll definitely come and join you at Parkrun!!
Yep and I know I've been banging on about it for ages, but sometime I just caught up in what I'm doing and forget to prioritise the basics. Maybe time a Rag banner upgrade?
Heh Ben, your Blog post is a great reminder. I can recognise my own actions in those you describe of yourself. Time for me to prioritise some rest too! Cheers!
It’s so easy to just let yourself be consumed by writing! Taking a break is the hardest thing. But so worth it, as you said!
Cheers Kiersten! Substack Grow got me all excited, but need to pace myself for the long haul. Eat, sleep, write, repeat!

Love the banner as a reminder to always prioritise things that give you energy, and recognise what might be robbing us of energy.

Cheers Adam, and it's an all too easy of a cycle to fall into, and one a lot people don't realise there in. Enjoy the rest and chat when your back!
