All I want to write about is energy.
And that’s because it’s been key to me overcoming most of my challenges and achieving the things I have.
And understanding it, and how to get more of it, I believe is crucial for everyone.
But I've been too scared. Scared people will think I'm "woo-woo" or that I'll upset someone if I oversimplify mental health.
And because of those fears, I haven't consistently written about what’s on my mind, even though the evidence is building that having chronically low energy for long periods of time contributes to poor mental health.
I'm also guilty of, at times, writing for likes and attention to get excitement, instead of focusing on what truly matters. And this blog has suffered as a result.
All because I haven't been honest with myself about why I'm writing something, or had the courage to say what I truly want.
But realising this has led me to refocus on what truly matters: energy, and how we can all improve it to live better.
So, after years of hesitation, I'm finally at the point where I feel confident enough to write about what I truly want, and from now on, this blog will be titled "Energy".
I believe how much energy you have matters, and we need to stop tolerating and normalising feeling like shit.
If you are feeling like shit, please be kind to yourself, as our man-made environment and modern lifestyles are wreaking havoc on our bodies and minds.
We also need a common language to talk about well-being, as well-being means something different to everyone, and I think energy is the word that should be used and how well-being is be measured.
And just because I think there's a simple explanation for feeling like crap, it doesn't mean making changes are easy. Far from it.
Anyway, this blog is now onto its 4th or 5th name, and I want thank you for all your support and patience over my 4.5-year writing journey here.
It means a lot and I'd love to hear your thoughts about low energy being the root cause of poor mental health. What do you think?
