We’ve never lived in a better age to turn our lives around and consider what we need to do to live a longer life.

Years ago I heard it rephrased by the great Matt Legge from “live for a long time” to “live for a long time in good health”. That has stuck with me ever since.

For me, as I age, I want to live a long life in good health not so much for myself, but for the people around me I can help.

Firstly great job with the write up and congrats with the Alfred presentation. I heard people were in stitches at the end!

Life can be so cruel and short for many. We don't know when our last breathe is coming.......no one knows.

Purpose, Passion and Presence - What can you do to be the best version of yourself and make a difference for others?

Have a awesome day my good friend.

Cheers Binh! What can I do to be the best version of myself so I can make a difference for others? I think it's to keep focusing on my health so I have even more energy to help others because if I just focus on others at the expense of my own health, I fall into a heap. Gotta put my life jacket on first.

What about you?

Limiting beliefs is what use to hold me back. Always thinking my best days are behind me.

Once I put in the daily work through nutrition and exercise, this help massively with quieting the negative thoughts in my mind. The daily work starts WITHIN ME - I believe my beliefs shape my reality.

Nice mate! And why do you think nutrition and exercise help quietening a negative mind?

For me, working on being the best version of myself starts on the front foot, every morning. The solitude of exercising and moving my body with intention allows me to clear my thoughts and tap in the positive energy gained to tackle the hectic day ahead.

Having the best selection of available food to fuel my body, aids in my rest and recouperation. This allows me to kick off my morning routine / day in the best way possible.

What kind of things do you think will help you live a long, healthy life?

I think about this often seeing that my parents are no longer here… what can I do to make sure I can see my kids kids?

My Grandpa who died last year always said "health isn't merely the absence of illness" which I think is very true. Just because you dont have cancer or a diagnosed condition doesn't make you healthy (drug addicts etc)

So what does a healthy life mean? I think being "healthy" means "having lots of energy" so a healthy life is one full of energy imo. That's why I focus on the things that give me energy (sleep, food, exercise, time with friends etc) and working on stuff I feel passionate about (Alfred, blogging, R4R etc).

I also think a healthy life is one without chronic stress, as it's a massive killer and energy drainer.

What do you think?

Yeah, I tend to agree. Plenty of people out there who aren't sick but definitely aren't healthy.

I think the energy thing is a really good point, I'm always tired despite trying to do all the right things but I often think that I'm trying to juggle too much... but then if I let something go then I don't feel I'm doing all the things I need to be doing. It's almost a catch 22

Yeah, I’ve definitely tried to juggle more than what I had the energy for. But what’s helped me most has been to ruthlessly prioritise what’s worth me spending energy on, and push the rest of my plate.
