Why did you go to the RWC? Is it really important? Would you have been happier at home? Why is going somewhere, anywhere the solution? In my opinion many run away from their lives and pretend they will be happier somewhere else!
I would probably try to distance myself from rugby . There are better things to do.
I went because I love the game and was a chance for my wife and I to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. Agreed many people run away and pretend life is great while on holiday, but I won’t be distancing myself from the game that’s given me so much. But accept the game is broken in Australia.
I've done a bit of reading recently on this topic, particularly around athlete career development and some of the literature viewed the athletic career as a series of transitions. So now I'm wondering if perhaps the same applies to life in general. We're constantly transitioning?
I'm currently on holidays too, more time and space and lots of thinking and reflecting.
I think we are always “evolving”, but what I mean by transitioning is what I do for full time work. Perhaps I underestimated how hard starting a new career would be? Enjoy the holiday!
Have a go at listening to "concentration music" too. Just have a look on YouTube. I don't know if it's a load of BS pseudo-science or not but I find when I really need to concentrate at work and smash out a presentation or something I just put some on my headphones and it helps focus. No distractions from emails or teams messages etc.
Thanks mate! Yeah, love the ”rainy Parisian cafe” track or even a sound track. Interstellar, lord of the rings and the dark knight can lock me in for hours, but need to do it more often.
To certain extent it is however it's an easy focus point and it's easy to measure. I often say to people who are struggling financially to focus on earning say $1000 in a week i.e. a seven-day, 24-hour day. Just focus and see if you can do it. Challenge yourself. Do whatever it takes to get that $1000.

Why am I still transitioning careers?

Good idea. Enjoy!! Sure worked for me!!
Understood. Enjoy your 10 year anniversary. That’s a great reason. Best wishes

Whatever it takes? Even if it means being miserable?
No! Don’t be miserable. Make it a challenge. Score that try ! Go hard .
Choose one target! Perhaps money . Make money you success. Focus hard on making money and the accumulation of money .
Why money? Isn’t that just a byproduct of doing something well?
