Not much to report this week other than my wife and I had our first kid-free holiday in 5 years, as we went to a dead rubber footy match across the ditch! (Hahaha yes, I have a very patient wife).
I had planned to do some writing, but it just didn’t happen and ended up having a better time than I thought I would, despite the disappointing result.
When I retired, I swore I'd never go back to Auckland after all the painful losses there.
But now that I’m outside the Rugby bubble and free to venture beyond Eden Park, the training paddock and the team hotel, I was surprised at how nice the city and surrounding areas were, as I use to think Auckland was a massive shit hole.
The highlight was touring wineries at the nearby Waiheke Island, and a massive thanks to the team at PPG Events for organising the trip.
Also in partnership with the Dock, PPG is running a tour to next year’s Rugby World Cup in Paris, with the package including tickets to both semis and the final.
If the world rankings are anything to go by, it should be the closest World Cup yet and I’m pumped to be a part of what should be another cracking tour.
But my fingers and toes are crossed so the Wallabies can get injury free and get on a roll like they did in 2015.
For more info about the tour, simply reply to this email or leave a comment and I’ll be in touch.
Up the Wallabies!
Looks like a great weekend away this! Other than the rugby result of course :(
