While at KPMG, I got asked to speak at a team meeting to share some high performance lessons from sport.
I spoke about the importance of energy and how the teams with the most are usually the ones that win.
And despite being nervous, it seemed to land as I got asked to do more internally.
Then I got invited to speak at a co-working space, and that one went great.
So with a nudge from my wife (and lots of help from
), I doubled down and launched www.benalexandertalks.com.Since then, I’ve delivered 15 talks for companies like Warner Music, government departments like the Department of Defence, and startups like Acorn.
Now I'm off to Melbourne next week to speak at Men’s Health Week, and couldn't be more stoked with how it’s going.

The goal of my talks is to help teams understand how energy drives performance and what happens when it runs low (burnout). And I’m doing this because I reckon we’ve overcomplicated performance and well-being, and if we keep it simple, more people can actually thrive at work.
I only believe that because of writing here, as it’s helped me figure out what I actually think about energy and performance, and how to explain it in a way that lands. And I'm excited to start working with a coach soon to help me take my talks to the next level.
So thanks for sticking with me through all the half-formed thoughts over the years. I couldn’t have done it without you.
And if you’re ever keen to get me in to speak to your team, please get in touch.
Cheers!
