Still buzzing after the best weekend ever. Writing this not to boast, but as a reminder to myself of how far I've come.
Here's what happened:
Friday Arvo:
Caught up with an old teammate
who’s out from the UK and doing awesome things with Substack (the site this blog is hosted on).Had a beer with another mate at Public.
Then went to The Dock for a get together with Canberra run club leaders organised by Run Hub.
Jumped on the Dock bus to the Brumbies game. Close win against a Kiwi side, and I tried to embarrass Clyde who loves taking selfies and signing autographs with fans lol.
Saturday
Found out Jen secured her dream job, moving to a new role at DFAT she’s always wanted. Celebrated with some consenting adult time before the kids got up lol
Completed my 250th parkrun in the rain with friends. Also celebrated
50th!Then went for breakfast with the Start-up Striders at Doubleshot. Great chats and awesome to hear what everyone is building.
Then went to friends place with Jen who was having a used clothes sale to raise money for Braevhearts.
Then got home to find the kids had gone to their grandparents!
Made the most of the rainy weather by having a nap, then watched some NBA highlights and two of my favourite podcasts in bed:
All In - my go-to since the pandemic for staying informed on world affairs.
How I Write - this one blended my two passions: writing and AI. Love learning how great writers use AI to make their writing better.
Rounded out the day with some more consenting adult time.
Sunday:
Played with the ChatGPT image generator (see below)
Played some uno with the girls, had another nap, and did recovery with
. All of which left me feeling great after a crazy few months.

And like I said at, I didn't write this to boast. More as a reminder to myself how far I’ve come, and how a great weekend is not some fancy weekend away.
Just a social event or two, sleep, exercise, and time spent with those who matter most.
What's your perfect weekend?
